Kaylee Gives Back

October 20, 2021

A big thank you to Kaylee Martz and her grandmother, Ellen Martz for participating in our UnBagged Lunch Program!

After learning that some people, even children her own age do not have enough food to eat, Kaylee, a 6 year old St. Mary’s parishioner wanted to help her community. Kaylee’s Grandmother, Ellen, talked to Kaylee about people struggling with homelessness and food insecurity and helped Kaylee find ways she can give back.

Kaylee did all the work to prepare the lunches and helped deliver them to The Light House. Her lunches were happily accepted along with her heartfelt drawings of love, hope and happiness.

Sarah Ryan, Light House Director of Community Engagement, offered to write a letter about Kaylee’s lunch donation and she presented the letter to Kaylee. Kaylee was later able to share her experience with her schoolmates!

We are deeply grateful to our supporters like Kaylee and Ellen, who help us provide vital homelessness prevention and support services to our community!
