UNBAGGED LUNCHES

We distribute UNBagged lunches to our residents and community clients who are in need of food. UNBagged lunches are available at any time for anyone who comes to our doors hungry. You’ll donate sandwiches, 2 snacks, and water – exact instructions are on the sign up sheet.

Clothing and Footwear

Items must be clean and in good condition. No socks are needed at this time.

  • New Men’s Boxers and New Women’s Underwear
  • Gently used adult summer clothing. Especially high demand men’s clothing:

    • Men’s jeans & hardy work pants

  • Sneakers and casual shoes

*We do not accept suits or formal business-wear, evening-wear, ties or dress shoes. We do not accept any baby or children’s clothing.

Items We Cannot Accept

Due to health, safety and space limitations, we cannot accept:

  • Leftover, opened or expired food
  • Used household goods (kitchenware, decor, cleaning, maintenance)
  • Used bedding, pillows, or mattresses
  • Furniture or large household items*
  • Opened toiletries
  • Baby and Children’s items (clothing, toys, stuffed animals, used cribs, car seats)**
  • Used electronics
  • Books, DVDs, CDs, or other media
  • Items that are dirty, stained, torn or moldy
  • Donations that are left outside the building

**Our families are best supported with Target and Amazon gift cards so we can meet their specific needs.

Donation Drop-Off Information

  • Donations are accepted Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8am-6pm
  • Large donations & food drives are by appointment only with our In-Kind Development Officer
  • Please do not leave items outside of the building

SEPTEMBER SUDS DRIVE

The Light House provides free laundry and shower facilities to our shelter residents and to community clients in our Safe Harbour Resource Center. That amounts to over 150 loads of laundry and over 400 showers per week!

You can help provide the dignity of a fresh start for individuals and families experiencing homelessness by supporting our September Suds Drive today!

UPDATE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I would like to express our sincerest gratitude to all in Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, and the surrounding communities who have dedicated their time and support during the temporary evacuation of The Light House. This was an extremely challenging week that resulted in an incredible showing of love and support for our neighbors in need. There are no words to express our deep appreciation for you all.

The Light House at 10 Hudson Street sustained significant damage on January 9 resulting from an electrical fire in a laundry room, and subsequent flooding due to water dispersal from the sprinkler system… CONTINUE READING HERE.
