The Light House provides shelter and affordable housing solutions for individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
Last year alone, we provided shelter and transitional housing for 228 individuals, including 21 children.
Our 24,400 square foot facility at 10 Hudson Street is a central location that houses our many programs and services. This location acts as the shelter for our Residential Program clients, and shelters 45 individuals and 4 families.
Upon starting the program, individual residents can stay for up to three months and families can stay for up to six months. If they are progressing through the program and are unable to find housing after their initial residential period, clients can apply for monthly extensions of up to three months for individuals and six months for families.
The Light House owns and operates two transitional housing properties throughout Annapolis to provide housing options for clients coming out of our Light House Residential Program. These residents are granted an initial year lease with project based vouchers through the Housing Commission of Anne Arundel County. They are required to contribute 30% of their income and can stay for up to two years. They are provided with Light House case management services to guide them towards sustainable housing.
