Recognition for Staff and Community

Light House Staff and community leaders at the January 22nd Annapolis City Council Meeting.

At the Annapolis City Council Meeting last week, our Light House Staff, along with the Annapolis Fire Department, Office of Emergency Management, Office of Community Services, Department of Transportation, Recreation and Parks Department, the Red Cross, and Bread and Butter Kitchen were presented with citations of recognition for their support during the fire at 10 Hudson St. on January 9th.

Alderwoman Rhonda Pindell Charles presented Light House staff members Beth, Kevin, Josh, Antiwan, Branden, and Davontia with City Council Citations and gave the following remarks:

As always, you all come through just like a shining light. On behalf of the residents of the City of Annapolis, we are please to confer upon you this City Council Citation in recognition of your work to help the residents of the Annapolis Light House shelter when a fire made the shelter uninhabitable during one of the worst rain, wind, and flood events the city has experienced. As a leader at Light House, you quickly calmed residents, assessed the damage, and worked on a plan of action. You worked to not only ensure that residents had their needs met while displaced but also quickly worked to get a remediation plan in place so that residents could return to the shelter as quickly as possible. We thank you for your service to these residents and all of the residents of the City of Annapolis. We truly do appreciate all of you.

We are deeply grateful to all of our staff, local government agencies, and the many community members who came together to support our neighbors in need these past few weeks. There are no words to express our deep appreciation for you all!
